While the programming committee decided to discontinue the annual Harbor and Carousel Festival this year, after 26 years of operation, there is still much to do at Ontario Beach. The committee has planned programs and events that are family friendly, affordable, and occur throughout the year.
In the winter, there is the annual Lakeside Winter Celebration/Polar Plunge during which you can brave the icy waters of Lake Ontario for a refreshing winter’s swim.
In the fall, they host Autumn at the Lake, which features free hayrides and carousel rides. Kids can come and decorate pumpkins, too. Also, there is the fall portion of the Spring/Fall Big Band Dance series.
The committee sponsors the Fourth of July celebration at Ontario Beach with music, food, and fireworks. And, of course, there is also the opportunity to swim at the beach when the temperature is agreeable.
The community also supports the Genesse Riverway Trail that follows the Genesse River to the harbor and includes stops at the Ferry Terminal and the Charlotte Lighthouse.
